Sha Bao Liang, born in Beijing, is a Chinese singer and actor. At aged 8 in 1980, he entered Beijing Art School to learn acrobatics. As a child star of the acrobatic troupe, he won the Gold Award of the French World Future Acrobatics Festival. In 1993, he started working as a backup dancer in bars. By chance, the bar singer was absent, and Sha sang "Change All Mistakes" instead, kicking off his entry into the music scene and embarking on a singing career. He cooperated with the boy band "The Moderns" to start composing and singing. In 1995, he established the Desert Music Studio. In 2003, he came into prominence after he sang the theme song "Dark Fragrance" for the TV series "The Story of a Noble Family". In the same year, he represented the Ministry of Culture of China to participate in the Romania International Pop Music Festival and won the highest award, the "Golden Stag Award". In 2004, he made his screen debut in the TV series "Happy 2004". Sha met his first wife, Chinese actress Zhu Na, in a performance in 1988, and they have a daughter together. In 2020 the couple divorced and on 2 August 2022, Sha officially announced his relationship with his girlfriend, later identified as 34-year old Chinese actress-singer Dai Xiao Ying, met while filming TV drama "Antique Bureau Midgame".
